On Saturday, October 21/23 the Annual Sung Lee Cup was held at the Military Fitness Centre. The tournament was attended by 187 competitors from Sung Lee Taekwondo schools in Edmonton and St. Paul.  

Competitions included Poomsae (patterns), Sparring, Running Jump Side Kick, Jump Front Kick, Catfall, Sword Sparring and for the little ones, Speed Belt Tying. Parents brought along their lawn chairs and lunches to enjoy the day watching their children perform. A spirit of comradery and goodwill was keenly present throughout the day.  

As competitors left for the day, one could hear the clanging of their medals around their necks, as they proudly walked past the registration table on their way out. The instructors are so proud of their students. They also want to thank the many students who stayed throughout the day to referee the events. Thanks also to the parents and students who set up and cleaned up after the tournament.  

We look forward to the next tournament, the Winter Challenge, on February 24, 2024!
